Berlin and Other Ventures
Zouk, Impetus et al
27 May 2012
Where my two events were held
Where we did the energy session
Before I spoke at lunchtime event, with Bruno against the radiator
Fascinating week, all in all, kicking off with two days in Berlin, speaking at the B4E environmental summit, pre-Rio+20, and taking part in annual sessions for zouk ventures and Impetus Trust, where I am on advisory boards in both cases.
Did a lunchtime session with Bruno Berthon, Global MD of Accenture Sustainability Services, where I had to shush the crowd through the microphone to get a hearing, but the energy session I chaired went well -- and I met lots of interesting people, including Claude Fussler (who I worked with when he was at Dow Europe many moons ago), Gee Rittenhouse of GreenTouch, and Peter Bakker of WBCSD, which launched its latest report, Changing Pace.
Lots of late nights, what with dinners and flights to and fro. Fascinating series of conversations with Esther Dyson at the zouk ventures event. Otherwise, lots of phone calls with speakers for our Breakthrough Capitalism Forum on 29 May, and work on the program, process and intros. Continued right through through the weekend, which was gloriously sunny.
Watched as I worked by a robin and, separately, by a damselfly. So hot that a blackbird was sitting on the wall, its wings spread and panting through its beak. A menace of magpies all about. But lovely to see the swifts circling overhead.
