From HP Labs to Cotogna
First working day in San Francisco
18 June 2012
Dave and Bill peer into their garage - and see the world
Chris and I in front of the painting
That same evening: Carla and Will hosting us at Cotogna
Up earlyish and took the CalTrain south to Palo Alto, for a fascinating visit with Mike Dorsey of Westly Group, cleantech venture capitalists introduced to us by Will Rosenzweig of Physic Ventures, and then on to HP Labs in Palo Alto, where I had a great conversation with Chris Librie and Chandrakant Patel, acting head of HP Labs.
Got special permission to shoot a picture of the painting of HP co-founders Dave Packard and Bill Hewlett alongside Chandrakant's office. I was also shown their Net-Zero Energy Data Center, which positions HP as a pioneer in the emerging discipline of what I call zeronautics.
Then back to San Francisco - and, later, across to a wonderful restaurant, Cotogna, where we were hosted by Will, his wife Carla, and Andrew Williamson of Physic.
